# My fax does not appear

> What to check when a test fax or scan doesn't appear on faxbeep.com: the send report, the address, grouping, removal, and processing errors.

A test usually appears on faxbeep.com within a minute, and the results update automatically. If yours hasn't appeared, wait a few minutes, then check your machine's send report or error message. Use it to find the matching case below.

## Common causes

> [accordion] It hasn't arrived yet
>
> Most tests appear within a minute. Wait a few minutes before you send it again.

> [accordion] The results didn't update
>
> The test results update automatically while the page is open. If your test still isn't there after a few minutes, reload the page.

> [accordion] The fax call failed
>
> Faxbeep shows nothing for a call that didn't complete. Check your machine's transmission report, and check that you dialed one of the test numbers:
>
> | Country | Dial locally | International | Test email address |
> | - | - | - | - |
> | US | 1 (972) 532-9272 | +19725329272 | [19725329272@faxbeep.com](mailto:19725329272@faxbeep.com) |
> | UK | (020) 3808-9463 | +442038089463 | [442038089463@faxbeep.com](mailto:442038089463@faxbeep.com) |
> | Australia | (02) 6103-9109 | +61261039109 | [61261039109@faxbeep.com](mailto:61261039109@faxbeep.com) |
>
> Each fax number is also a test email address. Use the digits of the international number, without the `+`, followed by `@faxbeep.com`.
>
> Then check the phone line and the machine's fax settings, and send again. To check the line step by step, see [test a fax line with a phone](https://faxbeep.com/howto/test-a-fax-line-with-a-phone).

> [accordion] It's inside a group
>
> Similar tests from the same sender are shown as one stack with a count. After a reload, your test may be inside a stack. Click the stack to see each test in it. See [Groups](https://faxbeep.mintlify.site/results/groups.md).

> [accordion] The sender is shown as Unknown
>
> Many faxes arrive without a sender number, so the sender is shown as "Unknown". Look for your test by its arrival time and page count. Another person's test can match those too, so open it to check the pages. See [How sender details are displayed](https://faxbeep.mintlify.site/results/sender.md).

> [accordion] It could not be processed
>
> The test arrived, but Faxbeep couldn't convert its pages. Its page shows "This fax could not be processed. Please try sending again."
>
> Send it again. For an email test, try a lower resolution or a different file format.

> [accordion] It was removed
>
> Tests are removed after 30 days, or earlier after a removal request. The page then shows "This fax has been removed per our privacy policy." or "This fax has been removed per user request." See [Public for 30 days](https://faxbeep.mintlify.site/privacy/public-for-30-days.md).

> [accordion] Email test: the machine shows a message from Faxbeep
>
> Faxbeep rejected the email. Because the message came from Faxbeep, your machine's email sending works; the problem is the attachment or the sending rate. Change what the message describes and send again. See [Email refusal messages](https://faxbeep.mintlify.site/troubleshooting/email-refusals.md).

> [accordion] Email test: the machine shows its own send error
>
> The machine most likely couldn't hand the email to its outgoing mail server. Check its SMTP settings: server name, port, login, and encryption.

> [accordion] Email test: no result and no message
>
> Check the address first. Faxbeep doesn't reply to email sent to an address that isn't one of its test addresses. The address is the digits of the international fax number followed by `@faxbeep.com`, without the `+`. See [Scan to email](https://faxbeep.mintlify.site/tests/scan-to-email.md).
>
> If the address is correct, wait a few minutes and send again.

> [accordion] Email test: only one page appears
>
> Your machine probably sent each page as a separate file. Faxbeep uses one attachment from each email. Set the scan file format to PDF or TIFF so that all pages are in one file.
